.swiss stands for the features of the Swiss brand which are recognised worldwide, such as quality, precision and reliability. In addition to the existing country domains such as .ch and designations such as .org, which have already been assigned, additional generic namespaces on the internet were made possible in 2012 by ICANN (the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers). The Confederation has acquired the .swiss Top Level Domain to guarantee its use beneficially for the Swiss community and the Swiss economy.
The Federal Office of Communications OFCOM has been entrusted with the operation of the .swiss domain and with covering the incurred costs. As the registry, it will assign the domain names within .swiss according to fixed criteria and will promote quality and density in the .swiss namespace (Ordinance on Internet Domains OID, CC 784.104.2).
Since February, Kainjoo and its division Tech Engineering can reserve for you .swiss domains as an official reseller in Switzerland of the registrar Gandi.
This enables Kainjoo to reinforce its capabilities for brands and Swiss brands to protect their verbal identity during the creation process. We offer a robust process that reduces the risks of rejects, and we simplify all situations by working through single pricing (190 CHF VAT excluded). Please check with us for special price bundles where we can create your brand with the IPI office while registering your associated domains.

.swiss – From when will domain names be available?
From the beginning of the normal operation on 11 January 2016, legal entities can apply for any free domain names. The publication of new applications will then take place weekly. If there are no justified objections or competing applications, the domain names can be assigned directly. In addition, the acceptance of applications for the operation of generic names and for the naming mandates will begin.Priority of assignable categories during the launch and operation. TMCH is the ICANN Trade Mark Clearing House.
It is also possible to register domain names as a precautionary measure. The holder of a .swiss domain name is not required actually to use it. However, implementation will be mandatory for domain names that correspond to generic designations assigned by way of naming mandates.
